Abstract
poor productivity of construction workers is ine of the causes of cost and time overuns in construction projects. the productivity of labor is particularly important especially in developing countries, where most of the construction work is still on manual basis, and egypt like any other developing country suffer from labor productivity problems. the survey conducted in this research is divided into two stages. the first stage is to identify the importance of labor productivity loss in different types of construction projects in egypt. the first stage presents the findings of a survey aimed at identifying the most important causes of delays in egyptian construction projects from the view point of 100 construction contractors and consulttants with different specialties in the construction field.
results of the survey indicated that contractors and ninth by consultants. in the second stage of the research productivity problems were identified throught a structured questionnaire survey of 41 project managers working on construction building projects in greater cairo divided into two main categories residential building projects and nonresidential building projects.
