Abstract

The aims of this thesis is :
1. understanding of the different analysis/modeling tools that are capable of predicting the behavior of groundwater control systems.
2. analytical equations and numerical techniques are coventionally adopted on analyzing/designing groundwater control schemes.
The study follwed the analytical approaches.
The study reached serveral conclusions, including :
1. Special care should be exercised on using the analytical equations of groundwater flow in analyzing dewatering systems.
2. Simulation of groundwater flow using three-dimensioal numerical modeling technique is recommended for analysis of dewatering systems due to their ability to take different site and boundary conditions into consideration.
3. The aquifer hydraulic conductivity should be assessed from in-situ pumping tests due to its significant impact on the predicted grounwater drawdown values.
4. Aquifer anisotropy affects the grounwater drawdown.
