br>Summary
First: Problem of the research`
Youth, as being the majority of the society members, comprise the basis of progress in all aspects of life. Students in general, and college students in particular, represent a major youth sector and a human wealth that the government fosters. Universities are deemed responsible for contributing in raising their students socially through achieving their educational message.
As a first priority for the universities, comes social care for Dorms female students. This is done by providing appropriate accommodation and other services for this category that was forced to leave home to get education. University Dorms provide facilities to help these female students go on. They also provide many services and activities to provide a good atmosphere for students and help them dedicate themselves to education and reach the ultimate level of achievement and excellence.
The Dorms community includes many female students of different cultures, customs, traditions, behaviors, needs, and problems. So, social care was introduced to help such girls meet these needs and mitigate such problems. This takes a generalist practitioner social worker with sufficient knowledge, values, and skills for handling any kind of systems that might have caused such problems; and making changes in these systems to face the problems encountered by female students in the campus.
So the problem is determined as ” Identifying the problems encountered by Dorms female students, and the general practitioner’s role in handling them”
Second: significance of the research
1 - Students in general, and college students in particular, represent a major youth sector and a human wealth that the government fosters. The essence of this care is that college students are a major contributor in achieving social and economic progress of the society.
2 - Student Dorms represent a major student service sector that must be developed continually.
3 - There are many problems encountered by Dorms students such as social, behavioral, psychological, economic, and health problems. This would require social workers to deal with them by research, study, and finding treatment.
Third: Aims of the study
1) Identifying the problems encountered by female students Dorms, and the generalist practitioner’s role in handling them. This can be achieved by the following secondary targets:
- Identifying the problems related to the female student’s system.
- Identifying the problems related to the organization systems.
- Identifying the problems related to the team work systems.
- Identifying the roles of female social workers in handling the problems of Dorms female students.
- Identifying the obstacles that encounter social workers and limit their roles.
- Reaching a proposed vision of general practicing, for handling Dorms female students’ problems.
4 - Questions of the study :-
a) what are the problems of female dorms students?
- What are problems related to female student system?
- What are problems related to organization systems system?
- What are problems related to the team work system?
b) What are the roles of the social worker generalist practice that she plays in dealing with female student problems in dorms.
c) What are the obstacles that encounter the social worker during her work?
d) What is the suggested work frame through which a social worker can perform her job better in female student dorms?

- social survey using a sample of female students dorms in Assiut university
- Comprehensive survey of social workers working in these dorms

- questionnaire of the female students
- questionnaire of the social workers in female students dorms
4- fields of the study:
- Human field
- A sample of female students dorms in Assiut University: 520 students.
- A general survey of all the social workers in Assiut university dorms:30
5- Temoral field :
Time from 20 March 2010 until 30 May 2010.
6- Statistical analysis:
- The study used the following statistical procedures:
- Frequency and percentage.
- Weighted average
- Relative strength
- Reliability coefficient Gitman.
Study results:
The study results showed that the most problems which face the student of female dorms are the health care problems at the rate of 89.91% and the least one are the social problems at the rate of 61.84% .Also the study got that the most important roles of the female social workers are those which do with ( applied with) the student individually at the rate of 81.15%, and the least important role of the female social worker with the institution at the rate of 68.58%.
In addition to the study results showed that the difficulties which face the female social workers to perform her professional role are due to the social worker at the rate of 74.88%, the most difficult thing is the unavailable chances to know what is new books and searches in the field of dorms. The least difficult thing is due to the female students at the rate of 44.76%.
The study proved that the most important suggestion to activate the role of the female social workers in dealing with the problems of the female dorms student is to decrease the administrative load to practice their professional work at the rate of 15.66%, the other suggestion is the professional supervision to the female social workers at the rate of 1.20%. the opinion of the student the most important suggestion to activate the role of the female social workers in dealing with the problems of female dorms students is that the female social worker has to b in a known and specific place at the rate of 10.74% , and to direct the students to services places inside the society at the rate of 4.56%.
Finally, the study reach a suggested fancy through the general social work practice in dealing with the problems of the female dorms students.
