Abstract
Different species of ruminant anthals were studica for Sarcocystis infection in Assiut Governorate. Samples from oesophagus, diaphragm, cardiac muscles and other sites br of the body were collected from each animal from Assiut br city abatcoir and i3any Ady abatboir. br Studies on Sarocystis infection in buffaloes revealed that they pQsseed the highest infection rate amon different ramhiant -animals as it was foun4 to be (a,4.5%). 2A-acroscopic fusiforiais cyst3and microscopic Sarcocystis levinei were recovered in br buffaloes. The Licio.estce of infection with both species in buffaloes under two years old and over two years old br was (4.O8%) and (77.5%) respectively. The icjdence of S. fusiformis infection in both groups of animals was fojad to be (30%) and (75%) respectively. Homojnizatioa tecnnique was carried oat for the determination of the prevalence of saicroscopic Sarcocystis species cysts in different ruainants.
