Abstract

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
Our study on Bruceliosis in the Upper Egypt included 1232, 560, 720 slaughtered camels, Balad cattle and Buffaloes respectively, 130 clinically healthy dairy Friesian cows and 49D Friesian dairy cows with history of the disease.
The study was directed to throw hght on the incidence of brucellosis among different animal species, relationship between age and sex to susceptibility of camels to infection, evaluation of different seroogicaI tests which were used in the diagnosis of the disease, effect of incubation at 50°C on tube agglutination test for serum of camels and trials for isolation of Brucella species from lymph nodes of different s’aughtered animals.
The present work showed that the percentage of infection in camels was higher in female adult camels than that in male young camels. The percentage of infection in catt’e was 2.32%. The female catt’e were more susceptable to infection with bruceliosis than male. In the same time the percentage of infection in buffaloes differed according to the type of sero)ogical tests.
The results showed that the highest percentage of Brucellosis was detected in the Friesian dairy cows at Quena Province.
By using slide serum agglutination test in the present study, its results were in agreement with other serdogica tests and cou’d be used as rapid field test br detection of Bruceflosis in larm animal species and abattoirs.
