Abstract
Condensation of 3-formyl-1-phenylpyrazolo 3,4-b quinoxaline (ll) with various aroylhydrazines gave the corresponding hydrazones lll-vlll, which on treatment with iodine and mercuric oxide underwant cyclization to the corresponding 3-(2-aryl,1,3,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)-1-phenyl-pyrazolo(3,4,-b) quinoxaline derivatives (X-XiV). The PMR and mass spectra of the products are discussed .
