المستخلص Virtually all areas of the world have developed their own painting traditions and techniques, generally based on availability of materials and the respective cultural needs that painting serves. However, all paintings have one thing in common : all are stratigraphie structures of varying degrees of complexity. Almost all kinds of materials have been used as supports. However, in Egypt, the major painting traditions can be summarised as follows : Tempera : pigments are mixed with organic, generally water- soluble, binding substances, such as egg yolk and white, or tree gums such as gum arabic in the case of water colours. Animal glues, vegetable glues, milk, and milk products have also been used. |
