Abstract In this study, examination of 230 camels at Asslut province was carried out and out of these animals 100 camels were slected for the investigation (79 males camels and br 21 she camels of 3-10 years age). br The infestation rate with gastrointestinal parasites in Camels at Assiut province were 66.66%. br The main clinical signs of gastro-intestinal parasitic infestation in camels were anorexia, debilitation, restlessness soft mushy faeces with offensive odour containing mucus threads, diarrhoea tinged with blood, loss of body weight, emaciation, oedema of the lower parts of hind limbs and ventral parts of abdominal cavity. br Faecal examination of camels for gastroinstinal parasites was carried out by direct smear, sedimentation and flotation techniques and egg counting using McMater technique to estimate the number of eggs per gramme of faeces. br Blood pictures of camels infested with gastrointestinal parasites were studied and compared with 50 control camels (39 male and 11 females). The results of these studies revealed a significant reduction in R.B.Cs. count and haemoglobin contents, non significant decrease in packed cell volume, non significant increase in Erythrocytic. |
