المستخلص
1- The overall mean for fertility 76.6, 68.8%, embryonic mortality 17.5, 21.8% and hatchability 74.2 and 63.8% by using sex ratio 1: 1 and 1:2 respectively for the HBW group in experiment 1 (parents). Versus 76.8 and 63.4, 18.5 and 19.4 and 67.6 and 69.8%, respectively for LBW group. Regardless the effect of body weights and sex ratio, the overall means for fertility, embryonic m011ality and hatchability were 71.4, 19.3 and 68.9%, respectively.
2- Regarding the progeny in the second experiment, the overall mean for fertility 74.8, 82.6, embryonic mortality 15.3, 11.8 and hatchability 75.0, 86.5% by using sex ratio 1: 1 and 1:2 respectively for HBW group. Versus 80.1 and 82.2, 10.1 and 13.7 and 80.9 and 82.0, respectively for LBW group. Regardless the effect of body weight and sex ratio the overall mean for fertility 79.9, embryonic mortality 12.7 and 81.1%, respectively.
3- Development of female reproductive system and 17 B-estradiol concentration:
1- The average ovarian weight was 7.85 g at 1 st wk of age and increased to be 174.7,764.9 and 36191 at 5,6,7 wks of age, respectively.
2- The average ovarian follicular diameter was 0.09 cm at 1 st wk and increased to be 0.45cm at the 3rd wk of age. Mature ovarian follicles sections at 5th wk of age.
3- The 1 7 B-estradiol concentration increased significantly from the 3 rd wk of age coinciding with ovarian follicles. The sexual maturity begins by onsite of lay at the end of th wk of age.
4- The oviduct started to appear obviously from the 6th wk and increased in length to be 24.9 cm at the end of th wk of age.
