Abstract this study was designed in a trial to clarify any possible relationship between serum resistin levels and some haemostatic changes in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats and high fat diet-fed rats. Adipose tissue is now considered as an active endocrine gland that affects all aspects of body homeostasis. Adipose tissue derived molecules regulate energy homeostasis, dietary behavior, as well as insulin sensitivity and immunity. The term ‘‘adipokines” has been introduced to describe a subgroup of the aforementioned mediators and refers to leptin, adiponectin, resistin, apelin, visfatin and omentin. |
