Abstract

A total number of 148 neonatal buffaloe calves 1—73 days old were included in this study. By clinical and laboratory examination fourty sex calves were healthy and kept as control. One hundered and two calves showed a various degree of digestive troubles during the prevalence of outbreak occured in El-Hawatka and Bany Sanaci Milking Stations in Assiut province and in animal production station in El-Sherka Village in New Vally Province. Also in some private owner cases in Assiut and New Vally Provinces. br Diseased calves were classified according to the nature, sequence and severity of clinical symptoms into five groups: br 46 clinically healthy, 19 with transient (dietic) scour, 49 with enteritis, 18 with tympany and 16 collapsed calves suffering -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; enteri ti s. br The study included the biochemical determination of macro- elements (Calcium, Inorganic phosphorous, Magnesium) electrolytes (Sodium, Potassium and Chloride) and microelements (Iron and Copper) in blood serum of buffaloe calves. br In the early stage of illness (dietitic scouring calves), hyponatraenia, hypochloridaemia and hypocopperaemia were noticed. Concerning enteric calves and collapsed calves suffering -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; enteritis, there was hypocalcaemia, hyponatraemia and hypoferraeinia, while in contrast marked hyperphosphataemia, hyper
