Abstract The High Dam Lake is considered as one of the ma] or components of the Egyptian Fish economy which should be utilized on proper economic and scientific bases. It is distinished by a geographical, environmental and biological circumstances that makes it one of the best Nile Fishery in Egypt. The data ruralid that its water area has amounted to 1,1 Million feddan at the highet water storage that was reahed in 1977/87 of 177.47 meter above sea level. In the meantime, its area is about 20 percent of the total water fishery in Egypt. Hence, its area exceeds all natural lake available in the country. Nevertheless, there is a downward trend and rapid deterioration in the lake’s fish production in recent years due to the conditions and factors that prevent its optimum economic utilization. Therefore, it was necessary to undertake this study because of the problems related to production, transportation and marketing of lake’s fish on one hand and its management and sitligation on the other in order to face the problems of this important fish economy. |
