Abstract Cross- cultural conflict is an important international theme which preoccupies Henry Games (1843-1918) in most of his work. the purpose of this study is to illustrate this cross-cultural conflict in some of games’s major novels James’s literary career falls into three periods; the first , the middle and the last. james’s interst in the subject is mainly present in two phases: his first phase and the last one. the scope of this study has been limited to four of James’s Major novels ’ roderick Hudson’ (1875)the american. 1876 the potrait of a lady (1881)and the amossadors(1903)as they besty reveal’ in one’s view’ the idea of cross-cultural conflict in american and Europe and European cultural. |
