Abstract sumaary ana Conclusion field- laboratory investigation was carried out to evaluate the status of certain heavy metals, including some micronutrients, in s of Assiut Governorate in relation to pollution with those heavy The elements included in the study were: Cd, Ni, Pb, Cr, Fe, Mn, Cu. ‘o achieve such goal, the investigation consisted of two main [‘he first was devoted to the assessment of the levels of DTPALble heavy metals selected for the study. Therefore 50 profiles Lade covering all cultivated area in Assiut Governorate. This was )fl the soil classification to great sub-groups according to the Soil f Egypt. Those profiles represented the four great sub-groups: Torrifluvents (EFTT), Entisols Torriorthents (EOTT), Entisols psamments (EPQT) and Vertisols Torrerts (Vfl), according to tive area of each subgroup in Assiut Governorate. Each profile mpled at 5 successive depths: 0-15, 15-30, 30-45, 45-60 and ‘he second part comprised two study cases in Assiut Govemorate present demonstrating two types of pollution. The first study case vith the pollution with heavy metals thxough the use of “untreated” wastewater, being collected at El Madabegh village, about 10-12 rs northwest of Assiut City, for irrigation of fields belonging to 5 illages. This study case included 32 profiles covering all these , each was sampled at 3 depths: 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm. The study case was concerned with air pollution with the dusts, fumes ses presumably loaded with heavy metals. Such was found in the round the superphosphate factory at Mankabad, 8 kilometers |
