المستخلص Wheat is a major food groin in the world. It is the staple food in most countries and a strategic commodity. In addition, wheat plays an emportant role in the world trade of agricultural aM food commodities. The main objectives of this study are (1) To shed lights on production and consumption capacity and to identify size of food gap and the degree of self sufficiency in wheat in different countries and in Egypt. (2) To study the international trade patterns of wheat (and vtheat flour) and to identify major trends in wheat exports and imports at the world level, continents, and major F cowtries. ç.
