Agriculture has always been considered the most important sector in the economy of Arab Republic of Egypt.
It supplies other sectors with food, raw materials, labor force and capitl.
It is common knowledge that land is a source
factor in agricultural production, chemical fertilizers
as an associated factor of production, contributes greatly to the efficiency of agricultural production.
This dissertation is a study of the role of chemical fertilizers in agriculture economic development.
Its objectives are to detennine the optimum rates of chemical fertilizers for the important field crops, and to suggest soàie recommendation to solve some problems facing the fertilization policy in A.R.S-i-.
This dissartation includes four chapters; Chapter one presents information related to organic fertilizers and the Egyptian consumption and production of chemical fertilizers, from 1951 to 1981, its equations of development, rates of development and its expectancy in 2000.
