The study tries to shed light on production and consumption of Milk in Assiut qovernorate in order to find how Par production covers qualities needed for consumption
Data needed for the study was collected from three governmental Milk farms in Assiut qovernorate. The study found that average production of Milk in Assiut governo— rate during the period 1970—1981 is about 94.357 thousand tons annually of which 63.4% from buffaloes, 36.7% from cows and 0.7% from goats.
Average Milk consumption in Assiut governorate during the same period was estimated to be 103.5 thousand tons annually For both local and imported Milk.
This means that there is shortage in Milk production in Assiut governorate about 10 thousand tons annually during the period of the study.
In order to cover this defect in Milk production, the study presents the following proposales:
