- Poisoning continues to be an important health threat worldwide and represents a challenge to the diagnostic and treatment skills of the physician; it is particularly a universal problem among children ”One man’s medicine is another man’s poison” Many parents are afraid that if a substance is toxic or poisonous, it is deadly. This is not necessarily true as the substance is toxic or poisonous if it can cause any negative symptom Acute poisoning, a common emergency is one of the important causes of morbidity and mortality in children especially in developing countries, also is a significant problem in developed countries as well and so accidental poisoning remains an important health issue in children globally.
