Abstract The main objective of this thesis is to analyze and model LV power line cables (Indoor and Outdoor) as data communication channel. In order to use Egyptian LV grid for data communication, power line channel models have been developed to analyze and understand the factors that will affect the transmission. Two modeling schemes for PLC channel have been introduced first one of them is the chain matrix model which is used to represent transfer function of LV PLC channel for LV grid of Egyptian NDEDC. The other modeling scheme uses the concept of multi path propagation of the transmitted signal including weighting factor calculations in addition to attenuation and propagation delay factors. |
