Abstract
Many would say that the last frontier in inerventional cardiology is percutaneous valve repair and replacement.. Attempts at percutanous mitral valve repair are as varied as the pathophysilogic mechanisms of mitral regurgitation.
Most of these techniques are modifications of surgical therapies , such as edge-to-edge mitral leaflet repair and annulopasty. Other approaches involove remodeling of the left ventricular chamber in conjunction with the mitral valve.
