Abstract
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The experimental work for the present study was carried at the Agricultural periment Station of the Faculty of riculture — Assiut University for three consecutive asons from April, 1982 to August, 1983. The farn is cased at the Northwest of Assiut City on the Western de of. the Nile Alluvial Valley. The soil of the farm is ep with heayyo].ay texture.
The current work aims to study the effect of some ;ricultural practices on soil temperature distribution Lthin the soil profile. Generally, the obtained results mid be summarized as follows:
- Effect of irrigation:
Three levels of soil moisture wore uaed to study the Cfect of irrigation regimes on soil tenperature. Mean Lnimu temperature values appear to increase downward Lii the 30 cm depth, and then decreases with depth. The east irrigation treatment always shows relatively higher dues than that with more frequent irrigation. Similar esults were obtained for mean maximum values, which are be highest in the top 5 cm and, always,decreased with pth.
Soil temperature ranges were relatively the eatest in the top 5 cm and decreased with depth till 50 cm depth, below that, there was no variation show.
