Abstract SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION This study was conducted on the Poultry Farm of Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University during the period from March 1986 to August. 1988. The specific objectives of this study were to evaluate the potential and bioavailable nutritive value of dried poultry manure (DPM), hatchery by-product meal (HBM), rabbit excreta (RE), date—palm seeds meal (DPSM) and macaroni by—product meal (MBM), to formulate some balanced and low priced non—conventional rations including different levels of these by-product and wastes, and to test the effect of these produced rations on the growth performance of ducklings. This work comprised five experimental groups fed on rations included 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% non—conventional ingredients. Duc]clings were raised in floor brooders under similar optimal conditions. Every week, birds were individually weighed and feed consumption was recorded. Analysis of variance of the data was carried out by using the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) computing soft ware programs. Significance among least squares means was determined by “t” test as described by Steel an Torrie (1980) This investigation led to the following results: |
