Abstract 5— S UAU\IARY This research was conducted in the Farm of Animal oduction Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut iiversity. It included 600 laying hens and Isted er two years from September 1980 to October 1982 to npare between the performance of four breeds “Rhode land Red, Fayoumi, Dandarawi and Lobman Selected horn” and their crosses under Assiut Middle Egypt nditions. The traits studied in this investagion e egg number, egg weight, laying rate, cluch size, rtility, embryonic mortality, hatchability, sexual turity, shell thickness, shell percentage, specific avity, and “Hauh” units. This study led to the following reGults: • Four breeds Comparisons (Fayoumi, Dandarawi, Rhode Island, & L.S.L.). A— Productive traits. 1— Fg number. Payoumi excelled Rhode Island Red, Dandarawi and 1.S.L. in first 90—days of laying. The crosobreds had higher egg nwnbers in first 90- days of laying than their purebreds, Payoumi exceeded than Dandarawi, Rhode Island Red 14.S.L. in annual egg number. The crossbreds were superior to their purebreds. |
