Abstract Contrast induced nephropathy is the third leading cause of acute renal failure in hospitals and accounts for 10% of all cases .Many risk factors are included in developing of CIN such as age, sex, presence of D.M, pre existing renal impairment, drugs, dehydration and use of NSAIDS,The current study calculate volume of contrast media for each patient and divided it by eGFR to find cut off level of V/Cr.cl at which there is high possibility of occurence of CIN.The study has been conducted on 50 patients undergoing coronary angiography in Cardiology Department at Shebein El Koom Teaching Hospital All patients are subjected to : history talking, clinical examination, routine investigation as a preparation of coronary angiography which included CBC, liver function tests, virology, lipid profile, ECG, ECHO, urea and creatinine. The study measured serum creatinine after PCI in 3 consecutive days and calculate mean level creatinine. The study classify patients according to increase in serum creatinine after contrast injection into two groups; one group with creatinine rise more than 0.5mg/dl this called CIN group and the other group that increase in creatinine less than 0.5mg/dl this called non CIN group.Comparison between the two groups was made according to clinical data, laboratory findings, ECG, ECHO characters, number, sites of coronary stents and volume of contrast. |
