Abstract Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) is one of the most important legume crops in which the protein content is the highest than the other legumes. Numerous insect pests infest cowpea plants and cause serious damage to infested plants. Recently, whitefly Besimin !abaci (Genn.) is one of those serious sucking insects which economically reduce the yield. Reliance on chemical control of the whitefly leads to insect resistance making this insect very difficult to mange. It has become necessary to search for safe alternative methods to control whitefly in cowpea fields with minimum use of traditional synthetic pesticides. |
