Abstract

Spondyloarthropathy is a term used to describe a group of patient wilh
seronegative arthropathies, sacroiliitis (with or without spondylitis) unu peripheral ~opathy.
Gut infection is linked to the development of some forms of
spondyloarthropathy, the clearest example of which is reactive arthritis.
The aim of this work was to identify the frequency of inflammatory
bowel diseases, to study the factors which might favour the presence of
inflammatory bowel disease and to study the suggested role of non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs in the development of inflammatory bowel disease in patients with .Spondyloarthropathy.
This study was carried on seventy five patients of SpA and thirty
control patients with other diseases (rheumatic and intestinal disorders).
The seventy five patients of the SpA groups have been selected to
cover the main members of the SpA as follows: • group I (Ankylosing spondylitis): 15 patients.
• group 1I (Psoriatic arthritis): 15 patients.
• group III (Reactive arthritis): 15 patients.
• group IV (Juvenile chronic arthritis): 15 patients.
• group V (Undifferentiated SpA): 15 patients. Silent inflammatory bowel disease in spondyloanhropalhy Thesis for Doctor Degree in Rheum.
