Abstract This study aiming at evaluation the effect of cardio-pulmonary bypass in patients with impaired liver function ”child class A and 8”. 40 patients was included in the study of different ages and open heart surgery by the use of cardio-pulmonary bypass was done for him and operations were either value repair or replacement, coronary artery bypass Graft ”CABG” or correction of congenital defects. The patients were divided into 2 groups: Group I preoperatively 20 patients with normal liver functions Group II prcoperatively. 20 patients with potentially impaired liver functions All those patients were done liver functions tests before the operation and in 3 stages: 1st day, 2nd day and 14th day. from this study, we found that patients with potentially impaired liver functions preoperatively (Group II), liver functions tests become more impaired more than before the operation and by percentage nigher than in patients with normal liver functions tests preoperatively (Group I). |
