Abstract
Hydrocephalus
(water - head ) is an excessive
accu mulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles I resulting in
enlargement of the ventricles I thinning of the cerebral cortex and
widening of the sutures of the skull.
C.S.F. is formed in the choroid plexcses

These ventricles are formed during the 5th week of pregnancy
hydrocephalus is caused bv several factors J either due to :
1 .. 0bstruction to folow due to :. congenital atresia of ducts or
foramina.
· Congenital infection e.g toxoplasmosis and syphlis.
