Abstract Infected pseudorthrosis of the tibia is a great problem due to 1- Infection and osteomyelitis at the site of fracture. 2- Bony loss and sclerosed bone ends. 3- Sinuses, unhealthy skin with adherent scars. 4- Infected pseudarthrosis develops after prolonged period of failed managements with prolonged immobilisation times. This results in stiff knee and ankle joints and unhealthy scarred skin usually with more than one skin incisions. 5- As result of all above points, the patient have pschycic disturbance. According to the bony gap we classify the Pseudorthrosis into 4 grads or types. Type 1 Pseudarthrosis :- There is bony gap less than 1 cm without massive bone loss. Type 2 Pseudarthrosis :- There is bony gap less than 1 cm with partial bone loss either f~om one or both cortices. |
