Abstract
the present study aimed to assess assertive behavior of nurses, find out factors affecting assertive behavior, assess job satisfaction and find out a relationship between assertive and thier job satisfaction among nursing personnel at general surgical hospital in zagazig university hospitals. the study sample consisted of (200) nurses, who have less than five years of experience or more. data were collected by using two tools, the assertive behavior inventory tool and job satisfaction sheet. as result, it can be conculuded that majority of nurses at general surgical hospital in zagazig university hospitals were highly and moderately assertive, and they were satisfind with thier job. ther was a positive correlation between nurses assertiveness and thier job this relation was statiscal significant.
