Abstract

In a trial to investigate the application of ELISA for serological evaluation of IBV vaccination
Six thousand and five hundred serum samples were collected from the corresponding investigated 25 broiler breeder flocks (260 serum samples for each flocks) under complete hygienic condition for detection of antibodies.
The Surveying of IBV for 25 broiler breeder flocks from different localities in Egypt (2 flock in Cairo, 2 flock in port said, 5 flock in Giza, 1 flock in sharkia, 1 flock in kaliobia, and 14 flock in Behira)
The examination of all serum samples (260 serum samples for each flocks)) for detection of antibodies titer of IBV by Elisa test using IDEXX kits from 1-day old chick till the end period of production (60weeks)
All the Elisa results are analysis statistically according to the following:
Comparison between the flocks vaccinated and none vaccinated whereas some flocks vaccinated in production and the other are not. (Effect of vaccine).
• Comparison between the flocks vaccinated with live vaccine and the flocks vaccinated by killed vaccine whereas some flocks vaccinated in production by live vaccine and the other flocks vaccinated by killed vaccine. (Effect of type of vaccine)
• .Effect of season on the immunity curve whereas some flock enter in summer or winter while the other enter in spring or autum.
• Effect of localities on the immunity curve whereas the flocks investigated present in different governorate all over the Egypt.
• Comparison between the immunity curve in both breeding period and production period.
• Finally this work may offer.
• Vaccination considers important strategy for control of IB in broiler breeder.
• Vaccination by Killed vaccine is more immunogenic than live vaccines against IB especially in production period in broiler breeders
• Developing vaccine from local strain is nessary for IBV control in Egypt.
• Elisa assay are safe and easy prepare methods and it is agood candidate for the evaluation of IBV vaccine efficacy and virus exposure.
