Abstract Mycoplasma gallisepticum could be detected by culture, isolation and peR procedures. The present study revealed that the highest incidence of MG isolation from tracheal swabs (19.7%) followed by the trachea and lung samples in an incidence of 12.9% and 4.7% respectively. The conventional method was compared with polymerase chain reaction. A polymerase chain reaction assay was developed for detection of Mycoplasma gal/isepticum from poultry related samples. Specificity of the assay was tested using 2 Mycoplasma gallisepticum standard strains and 4 non Mycoplasma gal/isepticum standard strains and 10 field Mycoplasma gal/isepticum isolates. The assay was 100% specific for Mycoplasma gallisepticum detection. In The present investigation the different serological techniques were evaluated, comparing the sensitivity and specificity of serum plate agglutination test and ELlSA technique for diagnosis of MG. |
