Abstract Out of 340` samples 69 P. aeruginosa isolates were recovered from different sources human, poultry, animal(cattle-goat-dog) and environment (water and air) with incidence 2003%. 65 isolates of P. aeruginosa showed hemolysin activity on blood agar with percentage 94.8%. By using the antimicrobial susceptibility testing , it was observed that all isolates of P. aeruginosa showed complete resistant to Amoxcillin and tobramycin . 2 stains only showed moderat sensitivity to keflex. Most of the P. aeruginosa strains were sensitivte to amikican, impenem, meropenem, gentamycin, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, trimethoprim-sulfamethazol and cefobid with incidence of 40.6%, 18.8, 20.3%, 1.4%, 17.4%,52.2%, 2.9% and 7.2% respectivily. The MAR index were calculated for the 11 antibiotics used and gave 98.5%. The invitro sensitivity test of 69P. aeruginosa strains were done against 9 ethanolic plant extracts. The result showed that Harmel, Rosemary, Tumeric, Marjoram, Thyme and Ginger do not show any antibacterial activity in concentration 100 - 40 - 20 - 10 and 5 mg/ml. Hibiscus gave intermediate antibacterial activity against 7 P. aeruginosa isolates in concentration 100 mg/ml. Eucalyptus gave high antibacterial activity against 61 P. aeruginosa strains in concentration 100mg/ml, and intermediate antibacterial activity against 24 strains of P. aeruginosa in concentration 40mg/ml. While Clove gave high antibacterial activity against 50 P. aeruginosa strains in concentration 100 mg/ml. |
