Abstract

This work was carried out to study the frequency of nosocomial infections (Hospital acquired infection) in veterinary clinics and to investigate the nosocomial infections that recovered from some animal species attended veterinary clinics and can be transmitted to veterinarians and veterinary assistance and also study the role of environment of veterinary clinics in transmitting the nosocomial infections to both human and animals inside the veterinary clinics. The isolated nosocomial infections were bacterial (Clostridium species and Staplrjlecoccus aureus), mycotic (dermatophytes) and parasitic (Giardia lamblia and Entamoeba species). The results proved that Veterinary personnel are at risk of contracting infections from animals (zoonotic diseases) because of their frequent contact with a wide variety of species and vice versa.
