Abstract
40- kOa protein was purified from concentrated culture
supernatant of C. pseudotuberculosis using hyDROPhobic
interaction chromatography. Four different vaccines were
investigated for their efficiency in protecting sheep against C.
peudotuberculosis. Vaccine composed of purified 40-kOa protein,
vaccine composed of recombinant mutant phospholipase- D (PLD),
vaccine composed of purified 40-kOa protein plus recombinant
mutant PLO, and Vaccine composed of formalin-killed C.
peudotuberculosis plus recombinant mutant PLD. The present
study concluded that the combined vaccine composed of 40- kOa
protein plus recombinant mutant PLO succeeded in stimulating
both humoral and cell mediated immune response and provided a
high level of protection against CLA in sheep (92%).
