Abstract
In the present study, the prevalence of fish mycobacteriosis in different species of ornamental fishes randomly collected during different seasons has been studied. The results proved that, the highest infection rate with fish mycobacteriosis was recorded during summer followed by Spring and Autumn, while it was the lowest during Winter. During this study 30 mycobacterial isolates were isolated; twenty of them were identified as M.fortuitum, eightv were identified as M.marinum and two isolates were slow grower unidentified mycobacteria. The study of the relationship between fish age and the isolation rate revealed that, the highest isolation rate was recorded in aged fish than younger ones. Histopathological studies revealed presence of tubercles in kidney and spleen but not detected in the liver.
