المستخلص 1. Introduction : Having reviewed the literature and the previous studies, the researcher found an urgent need for studying the suitable grammatical concepts for the Basic Education pupils at the first stage and determining these concept, moreover, it is an attempt to overcome grammar learning difficulties which are related to concept ambiguity and what grammar subjects should include in the light of the pupils intellectual recognition. 2. Research Problem : The problem of this study is expressed in answering the following questions : 1.What are the suitable grammatical concepts for the basic learning pupils at the three final years of the first stage? 2.To what extent does grammar course coincide with the concepts that can be recognized by the pupils at these classes? 3.What are the specifications of the suitable programme for learning grammar in the light of these concepts to be developed by the pupils? -2- 3. Procedures of the study : *Reviewing literature in the field of concepts, in particular the grammatical ones. *Recognizing the factors that affect concepts and the grammatical ones, besides their different measurement methods. *Recognizing the characteristic of the intellectual and linguistic growth of the pupils at the elementary stage. *Analysing the grammatical concepts included in the common linguistic structures, in the text books of the last three years at basic learning, the first stage. *Building a list of the grammatical concepts included in these structures and validating it. *Preparing a test for measuring the pupils’ recognition of these concepts at knowledge and application levels. *Conducting the test on some pupils to know its suitability. *Conducting the test on a sample to measure its validity and reliability. *Final administration of the test. *Preparing a list of the suitable concepts for each year, and considering it a criteria to evaluate each year’ grammar course. •Presenting a suggested project to develop the necessary grammatical concepts in the light of the results of the test. -3 4. Limitations of the study : 1. Only grammatical concepts; without other linguistic ones. 2. Evaluating objectives, and the grammar content in the light of what the pupils recognize cognitively and practically. 3. A representative sample of the last three years from basic learning pupils, at the first stage. 4. Some elementary basic learning schools at Kalubia Gavernorate. 5. Research hypotheses : 1-There is no relation between the pupils, recognition of the grammatical concepts and the school study years. 2-There is no relation between the pupils’ recognition of the grammatical concepts and sex (boys & girls). 3-There is a relation between the pupils’ knowledge of the grammatical concepts and their application to the study sample. 4-There are differences between recognizing each grammatical concept in the knowledge level and its recognizition in the application level at each years. 6. Significance of the study : - Providing specialists in the Arabic language with the most common grammatical structures and the most suitable ones for the pupils. 74- -Providing the educational library with a subjective tool for measuring the pupils’ recognition of the grammatical concepts. -Recognizing the actual state of the pupils’ achievement for the grammatical concepts at the basic learning, the first round. - Presenting a subjective list of what should be included in grammar points of suitable concepts for each school year. - Realizing the relation between the pupils’ knowledge of the grammatical concepts and their ability to apply these ones. 7. Findings of the study : -Presenting a theoretical basis about the nature of the grammatical concept, their characteristics, their measuring methods and the strong relation between each of :a concept, a term and a rule. -There are statistical significant differences at 01, level in recognizing the grammatical concepts at both knowledge and application levels, in favour of the sixth grade pupils and the fifth one. -There are statistical significant differences at 01, level in recognizing the grammatical concepts at knowledge level, in favour of boys; whereas there are no differences between boys and girls at application level. -There are statistical significant differences at 01, level between the pupils’ performance in recognizing the grammatical concepts at the knowledge level and theirs at the application level, in favour of the application level. 8. Recommendations : A) Recommendations concerning learning the grammatical concepts - Avoiding the odd and the single special cases in teaching grammar at the elementary stage. - Decreasing the unrelated traits of the grammatical concept that is presented to the elementary pupils. - Linguistic texts and the examples used in grammar books should be suitable for the pupils’ intellectual and linguistic abilities. -Providing the text book with aids and materials such as drawings, pictures, tables and special diagrams to present the basic and sub-basic grammatical concepts. - School set book should have the discussion of the grammat- ical material as well as the method together. Besides, qvaluation methods. -Objectives of teaching grammar at the elementary stage should include grammatical concepts mentioned at the suggested course. -Presenting concepts should be in accordance with the pupils intellectual and linguistic levels and abilities. -Teaching grammatical concepts should depend on complete understanding of all what is presented to the pupils. -Oral loud correct reading should be emphasized by the teacher as well as the right comprehension, memorizing linguistic texts and some verses of the Holy Quam. -6- - Regarding the pupils’ mistakes in the oral expression fields and the written one to stimulate the pupils’ motivation to recognize the grammatical concepts. B) General recommendations concerning teaching grammar : - Providing the school text book with the story of grammar science, in an interesting fine style. -Holding practical meetings to train teachers in the field of grammar at the educational level. -Paying attention to the kindergarten stage at all level. -School activities should regard all grammatical rules seriously. -Pupils should pay attention to their grammatical errors in all the Arabic language fields. 5. Suggested studies : 1-A field study for the opinions of pupils, teachers and experts about the reasons of the difficulty of learning grammar at the elementary stage. 2-Rebuilding and re-arranging the grammatical approaches. 3-Developing the linguistic correct skills at the general learning stages and its relation to the linguistic performance. |
