Abstract This work was conducted at the laboratory animal house in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Menoufia University, Sadat city to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation of some trace elements (Selenomethionine, Zinc methionine and Chromium Chloride) at varying levels on growth performance, carcass characteristics, immune response, some serum parameters and some productive traits in Japanese quail. For this purpose a total of three hundred and thirty 15 day-old Japanese quail chicks(Coturnix Coturnix Japonica) were used. Which purchased from a private quail farm at Shoubramant in Giza governorate. The chicks were randomly allocated into 11 equal groups (30 birds per group) of mixed sex. All birds were fed on grower diet from 15 to 42 days of age and breeder diet from 42 day to the end of the experiment. The quail chicks groups were fed as follows: Group 1 was fed on the basal diet, quails of group 2 were fed on basal diet supplemented with 0.5 mg Se / kg diet, those of group 3 were fed on basal diet supplemented with I mg Se/ Kg diet , those of group 4 were fed on basal diet supplemented with both of 30 mg Zn / kg diet, those of group 5 were fed on basal diet supplemented with 60 mg Zn / kg diet , those of group 6 were fed on basal diet supplemented with both of 20 mg Cr / kg diet, those of group 7 were fed on basal diet supplemented with 100 mg Cr / kg diet, those of group 8 were fed on basal diet supplemented with both of 0.5 mg Se and 30 mg Zn / kg diet, those of group 9 were fed on basal diet supplemented with both of 0.5 mg Se and 20 mg Cr / kg diet, those of group 10 were fed on basal diet supplemented with both of 30 mg Zn and 20 mg Cr/ kg diet and group 11 were fed on 165 basal diet supplemented with both of 0.5 mg Se, 30 mg Zn and 20 mg Cr / kg diet. T h e recorded measurements included body weight development, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, carcass characteristics, immunological parameters, some serum parameters, and some egg parameters. |
