Abstract The present study was carried out to investigate the role of free radicals and nitric oxide in the development of liver injury induced by repeated intraperitoneal administration of CCL4 (25μl/100gm) 3 times weekly for 6 weeks in experimental animals. In addition, it aimed to study the possible protective effect of aminoguanidine, green tea extract and selenium in comparison with silymarin. Furthermore, the scope of the present study was extended to investigate the possible beneficial effect of combinations of previously mentioned drugs with silymarin. |
