Abstract Our study was carried on 40 patients diagnosed to have symptomatic hemorrhoids. They were subjected to the following: Full History taking, General and Ano-rectal examination And full investigation The patients were divided into two equal groups Group 1: 20 patients were treated by Rubber band ligation Group 2: 20 patients were treated by Transfixion excision<br hemorrhoidectomy All patients were subjected to preoperative preparations, both techniques were performed under general, spinal and local anesthesia (pudendal block All patients were subjected to post operative follow up to eight months. The two methods compared as regard, time of operation, intraoperative bleeding, urine retention, post operative pain, time needed for healing, post operative stenosis, recurrence. The RBL operation was associated with short operative time (19.35) minutes, mild post and intra operative bleeding, less incidence of urine retention, mild post operative pain, short time of healing (16.85) days, no post operative stenosis and recurrence. |
