Abstract

A number of new 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives as well as their sugar
hydrazone derivatives and a cyclic nucleosides analogous were
synthesized. The structures of all synthesized compounds were proved on
the basis on their spectral and analytical data; IR, 1H NMR and MS
spectra which all agreed with the assigned structures. Some of the
synthesized compounds were tested and evaluated for their biological
activity.
Anthranilic acid (272) was reacted with phenylisothiocynate to give
quinazolinone derivative 273 which was reacted with ethylchloroacetate
to give ester derivative 274. The ester derivative 274 was reacted with
hydrazine hydrate to give the hydrazide derivative 275. Then compound
275 was reacted with carbon disulfide in pyridine gave 2-(5-mercapto-
[1,3,4]oxadiazol-2-ylmethylsulfanyl)-3-phenyl-3H-quinazolin-4-one 276
and also compound 277 was obtained (scheme 1).
