Abstract
A comparison between the remedial effects of potato and cantaloupe leaves when added to diets of rats inflicted with the nowadays three major diseases, namely diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia & renopathy. Biological changes ( body weight gain ” BWG ”, feed intake ” FI ”, feed efficiency ratio ( FER ) and internal organs weight were recorded. Also, biochemical changes in serum were determined including, serum glucose, lipid fractions, liver enzymes activities ( including serum alkaline phosphatase ”ALP” , glutamic oxaloacetic transaminas ”GOT & AST” , pyruvic transaminase ”GPT, ALT and AST / ALT, as well as serum protein fractions ( total protein ” TP ”, albumin ” Alb ”, globulin ” Glob ” and Alb / Glob” ), kidneys fraction including ( serum creatinine, urea & uric acid ).
