Abstract The present study aimed to determine the ameliorative activity of Dimethyl dimethoxy biphenyl Dicarboxylate (DDB) alone or combined with glycyrrhizin and curcumin Sixty three female Wister albino rats were divided into 9 groups: Group1 received normal saline and served as negative control. Group2 was toxicated with both LPS/ D-GalN (30 ?g/Kg, 300 mg/ kg, i.p.) and served as positive control. Group3 was protected with DDB (50 mg/Kg, orally). Group4 was protected with glycyrrhizin (14.3 mg/Kg, orally). Group5 was protected with curcumin (50 mg/ Kg, orally). Group6 was protected with both DDB and glycyrrhizin. Group7 was protected with both DDB and curcumin. Liver injury was assessed based upon histological examination, using Hematoxyline and Eosin (H&E) and Masson’s trichrome (MT) staining. Biochemically, serum activities of aspartate aminotransferase (sAST), alanine amino transferase (sALT), alkaline phosphatase (sALP) liver enzymes and hepatoprotection activity % (HPA %), were measured in all tested ,groups. Als immunological parameters as serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha (sTNF-?) and serum interleukin-1 beta (sIL-1?) were measured. |
