المستخلص - The objectives of this research were identi’ing the opinion of ,,ricultural extension workers in the fields of agricultural extension work, cthod and extension aids used by the agricultural extension, agricultural frxtension problems in the New Valley govemorate. and farmers opinion towards the role of agricultural extension in maintaining soil fertility and rational use of water resources, protecting the environment from pollution and determining the relationship between personal variablesof farmers and the degree of knowledge of farmers and their implementation of the technical recommendations of the issues related to maintaining soil &rtility, rational use of water resources, protecting the environment from pollution, and suggesting a vision for the work of extension in agricultural areas of the New Valley governorate. this study was conducted in the New Valley govemorate.400 farmers were chosen from the three districts namly frafra, mut,and El kasr. 104 extension agents were also chosen from the districts of the new valley. Data were collected using two preparad personal questionnaires during januazy and februazy, 2010. Data were analysed using presentages, speannan correlation coefficient, and analysis of varience. Reslut finding of this research inded with the following recommendation - Foeusng on the recommendations which agriculture extension did not transfer to farmers 2- Increasing the extension activities and efforts to educate the technical recommendations of the studied areas to farmers for increasing and improving production. 3 - Open chaanels of communication between agriculture extension and farmers to provide Farmers with information and means to increase the knowledge of farmers, and application of technical recommendations. 4- To provide concrete extension services through the establishment of the field demontration and extension seminars, and training of farmers on the best ways to implement the technical recommendations for these areas.
