Abstract

ABSRACT
road bean seeds in 5 governorates in Egypt found 15 fungal species. Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium solani, F. oxysporum, Macrophomia phaseolina and Sclerotium rolfsii were the most frequently and pathogenic ones causing high percentage of seedling damping-off . All tested fungi had the ability to activity pectin methylestrase (PME),polygalactronase (PG) and cellulose (CX) in culture filterates. Ten Trichoderma isolates and Bacillus subtilis reduced significantly growth of the pathogenic fungi and percentage of seedling damping-off .The reduction was even more when combined with Rhizobium. Some plant extracts used affected growth of the pathogenic fungi. Chenopodium murale was the most effective one . Clove and thyme oil reduced percentage of seedling damping-off and increased nodual status as well as some growth parameters of the broad bean. Application of fertilizer (NPK) at double recommended dose increased percentage of healthy survival plants, however, was even greates when NPK combined with the bioagent (Trichoderma, B. subtilis or Pseudomonas floursence) or fungicides seed treatment (Rizolex-T, Topsin –M and Vitaex -200) .
Key words: Survey, broad bean, damping-off , fertilizers, culture filtrates and fungicides.
