Abstract

The aim of this study was to conduct health education for the secondary school girls in Zagazig City about reproductive health.
This aim was accomplished through the following specific objectives:
- Assessing knowledge of adolescent girls toward reproductive health.
- Planning for the health education intervention
- Developing the health education intervention.
- Implementing the health education intervention
- Evaluating the impact of the health education intervention.
Abstract: Reproductive health is a relatively a new concept which is increasingly being recognized as one of the cornerstones and health major determinant and indicator of social development for adolescent girls. The aim of the presented study was to conduct health education for the secondary school girls in Zagazig city about reproductive health. A quasi experimental design was used in this study to examine the impact of the health education intervention given to students regarding reproductive health knowledge. The sample is composed of 288 students (girls) in secondary schools at Zagazig city. Three classes for intervention and three for control were chosen randomly from each school. A questionnaire sheet used to collect data about socio-demographic characteristics of students, and Knowledge assessment sheet regarding reproductive health issues used at pre-post test to measure the students’ level of knowledge.
