Abstract The nutrition survey of the elderly showed that the majority of them were taking inadequate nourishment. It was revealed in the present study that certain factors mainly the nature of the elderly economic status the dietary knowledge of the nurses working with them and also the elderly relatives, habits. All these factors influence the ability of the elderly to make adjustment or changes their dietary condition. Nutrition consultation was recognized to be inadequate for many ongoing problems of a group of aged persons with established food pattern and modified diets. It has been proved that health education for nurses working with the elderly persons and also for the elderly persons themselves is a necessity in order to help them adjust to their limitations. This necessity has been recognized in most parts of the world. Subsequently, little health teaching programmes have been developed, with different objectives and covering different areas of content about elderly. |
