Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the effect or assinging non-nursing duties to the nurse in both quality of nursing care.
The qualitity of nursing care provided can be measured by the number of hours of serives (given) provided lor each patient each day.
To see the effect of non nursing duites in the quality nursing care we have to observe the nurse during her work and how she consumed her time in nursing care, non nursing activities or unclassified time (free time).
We select 3 hospital (different) to carry out oure research and these
hospital are : -El-Mynia University Hospital . -El-Minya General Hospital (Amen) . -Samalute Hospital (Distrect Hospital) .
in these hospital we select 4 department . -LC.U medical (need intensive care) . -Medical department (Routine care) . -Pre-mature units (Intensive care). -Pediatric department .
To collect data we observe the nurse and record her activities during the 24 h working time in all ofthe ward using observation sheet prepared for that perpase .
Also we didinterveurstoeachnurseandquestionherusingthe2nd sheet .
The result obtained from these data ”hp\\,s that there is effect of non-nursing duties when the nurse do these duties it decreased her time for nursing care.
It shows that major time the nurse U:,C III her tree time even in intensive care units .
So, it reflect to us the importance of continous and effective supervisron .
The nurse did not differentiate between the nursing duties and non nursing duties .
So, it is very important to develop a clear job description for the nurse to identify her role and duties.
It is very important to develop staff development to improve the quality of nursing care .
