Abstract i Who present iork has been aimed to study the morphD— fraetic and. ovicidal activity of ZR 515 Isopropy]. (2 E, E)—11—methoxy—3,7,l1._trjnethyi—2,4—dodeeajLenoate ‘1512 Ethyl(2 E, 4 E)—3,7,l1—tri.methyl-.2,4_dodeoadienasts ha ICA 23509 (1O,11—epoxy—N—ethyl-.3,7,1l--trimethyl—2,6— ,koaecadienamido), as a juvenile hormone ninietie compowads, the Egyptian cotton leafworm Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.). .nother e:periments were made to examine the p2ssibility of this cotton pest to develop resistance tD rZR 512. Cross resistance pattern to these conpounds in different insecticide—resistant strains was also studied. ía— Ovicidal action of JH—nnics At a level of 20 ug/egg mass both ZR 512 and ZR 515 stopped embryonic development in all tze eggs treated, whereas, tIiø level of Nfl 23509 had to be 60 ug/egg mass before similar results could be obtained. It Is apparent that ZR 512 is nre active than ZR 515 as an ovicide. In general, the ovicidal action of thesa analogues was found to be concentration dependent, i.e. the higher the dose was the higher tI’s redaotion in egg hatohability. |
