Abstract
Dry eye is one of the most common annoying diseases in ophthalmic practice, lasik affects and get affected and the degree of dry eye
The cauuses of dry eye after lasik are dependent on the hinge position , hinge width lipid layer in the tear film and the state of coreal dryness before the operative p-rocedure
Investigations done in cases of corneal dryness are multiple and include tear break up time test ocular surface staining schirmers test flurescine clearance test meiboggraphy and eisthiommeter
Management of state of dry eye after lasik is divided into several steps according to each case from tear supplementation, tear stimulation tear retention control of inflammation till we reach to the surgical approaches by punctual occlusion lateral trasorrhaphy botulinium atoxin injection conjuctival flap and amniotic membrane transplantation.
